Learn more about Water!

Importance of water.

The adult body composition is of at least 60% water. Water helps regulate the bodies temperature, lubricates and cushions joints, protects the spinal cord, and eliminates body waste through urination and perspiration. And of course hydration.

Tap Water

7.2 million people have some illness from water and 1.2 million deaths are related to water quality. There are known carcinogens from the byproducts of chlorine; such as cancer from pesticides and increasing the risk of breast cancer.

Your tap water quality can be found online through a google search as every area/city treats the water differently.

Source:
Different sources had different amounts of impurities. These include but not limited to radon, fluoride, arsenic, iron, lead, and copper; fertilizers, asbestos, cyanides, herbicides, pesticides and industrial chemicals from run off. Production can add chlorine, carbon, lime, phosphates, soda ash, and aluminum sulfate.

Hard Water
Usually is high in calcium and magnesium, and this prevents soap to lather and a filmy residue. This has a weird taste. Some studies show that Hard water can lower heart disease but also isn't good for the heart, arteries, or bones

Soft Water
Improves cleaning properties. Soft water can dissolve the lining of pipes; Lead solvents or Copper depending on the type of pipes. Soft water is linked to kidney failure as it increases your potassium intake.

Bottled Water

Bottled Water testing is through the FDA (Tap water is tested through the EPA.) This different agencies have separate criteria to pass before its okay to consume. EPA makes certain that the results are available to the public (your local government utility should have it posted online for you to view). FDA doesn't require testing but ingredients are needed on the label; ie, spring, well, or tap water and usually salt.

Bottled Water can come from any source, it just needs to be recorded on the label. Unfortunately, the plastic causes endocrine disruption (its the hormone production). Just from the climate change in transport to get the bottled water can freeze/heat the bottle increasing this contamination.

Bottled Water is more expensive than TAP water.
